LOOP 3D and GS Project Design partner to boost the LOOP PRO 3D printer

LOOP 3D, a 3D printer manufacturer with a growing global footprint, has expanded its partner network through a recent cooperation with GS Project Design. The Belgian firm, which provides AM consulting and design services, will be using the LOOP PRO 3D printer as part of its versatile customer offering.

Meet GS Project Design

GS Project Design (GSPD) was founded by Gianni Scoponi (CEO), who sought to start his own 3D printing service while studying manufacturing and design in university. In the beginning, the company offered small-scale 3D printing services to customers, relying on a fleet of Prusa 3D printers. When the demand from local industries grew and customers became increasingly interested in adopting 3D printing for themselves, Scoponi knew he had to evolve and focus more on industrial AM.

To meet this changing demand, GS Project Design has launched a new website through which it is offering 3D printing consulting, training, design and supply services. The first branch of the company’s offering, consulting, aims to support small-to-medium-sized businesses as they explore how they can benefit from additive manufacturing.
“It’s not easy to understand how to unlock the benefits of AM so our services are designed not just to explain it but to prove it,” said Scoponi. “Once our clients are convinced of the possibilities, we help them in choosing what printing technology and what 3D printer would be the best investment for them.” The company’s training services then come into play, helping customers to learn the ins and outs of their new 3D printing systems so they can make the most out of the new technology. For smaller businesses who may not be able to afford 3D printing hardware, GSPD also has an Additive Production Center (APC), which features a range of 3D printing technologies, including FFF, SLS, SLA and robotic 3D printing systems.

The LOOP PRO

Among GSPD’s in-house 3D printers is the LOOP PRO, an industrial FFF system developed by Teknodizayn’s LOOP 3D. The 3D printer, launched almost exactly one year ago, is an industrial plug-and-play machine that can be used for a broad range of applications—including fixing a musical instrument, as we saw recently.

The system is based on an open materials ethos and is compatible with LOOP 3D’s DYNAMIDE materials brand, which includes carbon fiber reinforced and glass fiber reinforced filaments. The printer also features a flexible build plate, material conditioning unit, modular printhead and a large print volume of 500 x 350 x 500 mm.
For GSPD, a big part of the LOOP PRO 3D printer’s appeal is its user friendliness. “Our clients in the industry are looking for a system that is easy to operate,” Scoponi explained. “The LOOP PRO’s software, together with the cloud fleet management feature, make these printers the ideal solution to implement in an existing production environment. They are easy to operate and users can keep track of their prints with LOOP 3D’s management system and built-in live video streaming.”

A mutual benefit

LOOP 3D’s collaboration with GSPD is a mutually beneficial one: the Belgian AM service provider will take advantage of a reliable, industrial extrusion system, which it can use to demonstrate the value of 3D printing to its customers. LOOP 3D, for its part, has the potential to gain new clients through GSPD’s consulting work, as it helps businesses to understand how they can use the technology to improve their product development or production workflows.

Scoponi elaborated: “I know too many people that invested in small or cheap 3D printers convinced that they were the future. And don’t get me wrong, as a hobby these can be really great. But businesses are looking for a real solution that unlocks the advantages of additive manufacturing. We are here to help them implement it in their businesses, so it needs to be a technology that is accessible for everyone. Ultimately, we can’t convince someone of a product if we haven’t convinced ourselves of it.”

Anna Bogusz, Sales Director of LOOP 3D Europe, concluded: “We are looking forward to growing the partnership with Gianni and GSPD. They understand the AM industry and its dynamics, and are focused on supporting customers through finding proper applications and cost-effective products that are a foundation of successful investments. GSPD also offers hands-on experience for their customers and is building a machine park that develops their mission in the industry. Gianni has an amazing positive energy and work culture that fits LOOP 3D’s mission.”
